December 30, 2010, at 11:24 pm | Tonight’s our last night with Jim’s sister’s family. We’ll miss the wonderful cousin time!
December 29, 2010, at 1:10 am | Jim’s sister and brother-in-law joined Jim and I on a kid-free excursion up to Massachusetts, thanks to the merciful baby-sitting services of my father-in-law and eldest niece (my mother-in-law had to work, which I think may have been a strategic move on her part!).
Here we are at one of the displays at the Yankee Candle Flagship store. Isn’t it just like Jim to take me to a place involving MORE snow?
We had a wonderful time acting like kids in a candy store:
and just hanging around:
Doesn’t it look like we exchanged our two sets of young twins for one set of grown twins? Good thing these guys are potty-trained!
December 28, 2010, at 12:45 am | I haven’t had much time to update the blog, since our company got snowed in and extended their visit through later this week. We’re thrilled to get more time with family! Here are some of our pictures from Christmas day:
Kate (right): “My little cousin is so silly!”
Becky: “My new Shrek coloring book makes me very happy.”
Me: “Upside-Down Apple French Toast makes me very happy.”
Jon & Jim: “Our new iPads make us very happy.”
Susie & Becky: “We’re just like Daddy with our new laptops.”
Susie: “Who thinks they’re smart enough to take me on in an alphabet game?”
Becky (on right): “I’m trying out my new reading chair, my new PJ’s, my new laptop, and my new slippers.”
Jim (off camera): “Nothing says Christmas dinner like my personal serving of tacos!”
Susie: “I like matching my cousin with our pretty ponytails.”
Susie: “Watching a movie with my cousins is a perfect end to a perfect day!”
December 25, 2010, at 11:57 pm | It may be chaotic around here, but we’re enjoying every minute of it!
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
December 23, 2010, at 10:59 pm | We attempted a visit to Santa at the mall today, and although we didn’t get a picture of the four kids on Santa’s lap, we were able to capture the cousins all looking in vaguely the same direction:
I did get a few good pictures of my girls with Santa when we visited Jim’s Nana earlier this week. They were pretty excited to be up close and personal with the big man in red:
I even got in on the act!
And we were all even more excited that Santa brought snacks!
December 23, 2010, at 1:26 am |
Susie: “My buddy Landon is showing me how to act like a big kid.”
Becky: “The best part of eating vegetables is the double-dipping.”
Jon (foreground, left): “I can’t believe you made us sit at the little kids table while your toddlers are eating at the kitchen table!”
Me: “This is why we have parties – for the sweets!”
Jan (middle): “Fireside chats with family and friends are the best!”
Susie: “I’m so glad our friends came bearing cookies!”
Becky: “I’m so glad our friends came bearing kisses!”
Becky: “And bearing matching hats for us cousins!”
Becky: “I’m glad my cousin Jonathan got such a cool gift that I can inspect.”
Becky: “Whoopee! I think we need to have our friends come visit every day!”
December 21, 2010, at 11:11 pm | What’s cuter than two toddlers in footed pajamas?
FOUR toddlers in footed pajamas! The cousins are here!
December 20, 2010, at 11:48 pm | I had the privilege of attending my office Christmas party tonight (even though I only work about one day a month, every year they still kindly invite me to come celebrate with my co-workers at a delicious dinner party). Jim was able to get off work early enough to come home and baby-sit the kids while I was out. I had a delightful time, and came home to find everything as I expected it – the kids in bed, and Jim on a work call. But then I heard little voices coming from the monitor and realized the girls were still awake. So I walked upstairs, opened their door, and found that Jim had accidentally put them to bed with the lights on!
Silly Daddy. I guess I need to give him more bedtime practice. Especially if that means I get to go to more dinner parties!
December 19, 2010, at 11:59 pm | I realized that I never posted the pictures of our tree-cutting expedition a few weeks ago. I know you were all waiting on pins and (pine) needles for those pictures, weren’t ya?!
Becky & Susie: “I’m so excited we’re going on a tree hunt!”
Susie: “First, let’s stop for some tree-hunting food. Which requires mittens.”
Becky (on left): “What are we doing here in the woods, anyway? All the trees look alike!”
Susie: “Here, Dad – let’s give Mom a heart attack and have me help you hold the saw.”
Becky (on right): “You think Dad knows how to use that saw?”
Jim: “I just successfully felled our tree. I think my logging skills need to be featured on the next episode of ‘Ax-Men.’”
Becky (on left): “We had to drop by Pappy’s shop to show him our tree.”
Susie (in middle): “I think I’ve been blinded by Dad’s brilliant lumberjack maneuvers.”
December 17, 2010, at 11:30 pm | The stockings were hung by the chimney with care…
…in hopes that Bubba soon would be there!
The children were nestled all snug in her lap…
…while their Mama looked forward to a long winter’s nap!

ABOUT US I'm blessed to be saved by the grace of God, loved by my wonderful husband Jim, and embraced by my twin girls, Rebecca Faith and Susanna Joy and my sons Jimmy and Danny. I started this blog in May 2008 when I was hospitalized for pre-term labor at 24 weeks gestation. The Lord allowed me to keep the girls inside until they were 34 weeks along, and on July 27th, Rebecca made her debut, followed by Susanna, five minutes later, on July 28th. We ecstatically welcomed Jimmy into our lives on April 25th, 2011, and Danny on August 31, 2012. This blog has been a personal journal of faith and motherhood and the only way I can remember which child did what and when. Thanks for stopping by to share in my Faith and Joy! Feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected].
