Few of my Favorite Things

My current favorite things in the world (in no particular order):

1)  The feel of a newborn’s soft downy head tucked under my chin accompanied by his contented sighs

2)  The feel of my girls cuddled in my lap accompanied by their happy chatter

3)  The feel of my sheets accompanied by the sleeping silence of three children

OK, OK, there is a particular order…Number 3 tops the list.  I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder!

A Few Thoughts

I wish I had the time and energy to thoroughly relate some of my thoughts and feelings about the past few days, but I’m afraid I’ll have to settle for a few disjointed impressions:

1) Having a newborn (even just one!) is exhilarating and utterly exhausting

2)  The girls are very sweet big sisters who want to lavish love on their baby brother, but we’ve had to keep them apart because Becky has a cold.  I really wish I could let them hug and kiss him! (And especially get pictures of them all together).

3) It’s much tougher to stay up all night with a sleepless newborn when there are two other bundles of energy who need your attention in the daytime.

4)  Grandparents are the absolute best!

Here are a few random pictures over the past few days:

Tomorrow!

Soon we’ll be a family of four no more!  Lord willing, baby Jimmy will be in our arms tomorrow!

Baby Talk 2

Since my interview with Susie was so informative, I decided to get Becky’s take on baby Jimmy.  She was a bit squirmier than her sister, but just as talkative!

Jim’s Baby

As we prepare to welcome our little baby into the world, Jim is saying a bittersweet goodbye to his not-so-little baby: his Polaris Ranger.

The Ranger gave our family many hours of fun, but now it’s time to send it down the road.

His next toy better be a five-seater!

It’s All Good

Mall walking is always more fun when you can do it hand in hand.

Or in someone’s arms.
