Eight Year Old Becky

My Becky, I’m so proud of you.  I’m proud of how you endured through a difficult year of school, and how even though your teacher wasn’t all you had hoped for and the work was too easy, you still put one foot in front of the other and got the most you could out of the year.  I’m proud of how your brain works – mathematically, logically, creatively.  I’m proud of your artistic abilities, how you keep getting more and more skilled at drawing and how you are inspired by books and movies to create works of art yourself.  I’m proud of how AMAZING you are with little kids, especially your two foster siblings these last few months.  You pour love and attention on these babies, and are always there to help me entertain or hold them when I’ve run out of hands.  I’m proud of how adventurous you are with rollercoasters, waterparks, trampolines, and now even some water sports (I can’t believe that!!!!).  I’m proud of how you can organize and clean a room in no time flat when you put your mind to it – I can’t begin to tell you what a huge help that is to me!  I’m so proud of what a good friend you are to your siblings and your close friend, Norah – you’re such a faithful and loyal and fun-loving person to be around!  I’m proud of what an excellent leader you are – you love to come up with games and plans and charts and lists and help the other kids go along for the ride.  I’m proud of how you always ask me how you can help when you see my arms full of groceries or kids and you come to my rescue.  I’m so proud of what the Lord is doing in your heart and mind and soul.  I love you, sweet Becky.
