Jimmy: “Me have mine baseball hat on. Me ready play baseball.” You’ve heard of a four-wheeler. Now here’s our four-on-four-wheeler!
These girls are never one to waste an opportunity to play! Here was their latest stunt while waiting for the bus the other morning:
Becky: “Look! We’re reindeer!”
Yes. He’s excited. Big kid underwear is a big deal around here. Granted, it only lasted about 90 seconds before he wet himself and hasn’t wanted to wear any more since…but it’s progress! He’s actually done very well without any prompting from me. A few months ago, he declared he wanted to go on the potty…and he did. He usually goes at least twice a day all by himself. Emphasis on by himself. He doesn’t want me to be anywhere near him to help him get on the potty, or wipe, or even see him. He insists I close the door and give him “pribeese” (privacy). Which has led to some pretty big messes. But I’m proud he’s so eager to master this – and I’m REALLY looking forward to only having one child in diapers for the first time ever! The kids went to their first “big kid” birthday party last week and had an awesome time. They received their first-ever “goody bags” after completing an amazing treasure hunt and piñata bash. The girls spent the entire car ride home detailing elaborate plans for their next birthday party – never too early to plan, right? 🙂
Sometime life’s best bouquets are weeds handed to us with love! Anyone who knows my girls knows they are very outgoing. So, for them, going to school each day is a dream come true because it’s full of friends! I keep waiting for their excitement about school to simmer down a bit, but so far, they pull on their backpacks with zeal every day (This morning, when I got the girls up and told them it was time to get dressed for school, Becky did look up in surprise and ask, “We’re going to school AGAIN?” But I don’t think she was asking it in dismay – it was more like surprise!). Both girls are very happy with their classmates, and they’ve been begging to get together with them outside of class. So last week, we met some of their friends at a park. I loved seeing them play together so well! |
