Jimmy: “Now that I’m walking, I can do anything my sisters can do, like follow them over monkey bars…”
“…or help them dig in the sand…”
“…or stick out my tongue. See? Just like a big kid!”

Yes, my child is wearing ALL her clothes backwards. On purpose. I guess she wants to look good, coming and going! (And that’s not all she’s got backwards. While she was happily eating brownies for dessert tonight, I heard Becky singing to herself: “Everything I like to eat is healthy, and everything I don’t like to eat is not”). Drumroll, please! Jimmy is WALKING! Here’s a brief snippet of one of his jaunts today. Please excuse his hiked-up pants, the scattered toys, and Becky’s mismatched dress tucked into her pants. This video is a slice of our life around here – crazy, messy, and now ambulatory! Jimmy refuses to keep socks and shoes on his feet while in the car, so I’ve resorted to putting him in his car seat barefoot and then quickly putting on socks and shoes when we arrive at our destination. This strategy usually works…except when I leave the house in a frenzy and grab two different sneakers (both left feet, incidentally). Good thing you don’t need matching shoes to enjoy the swings! It’s taken a long time, but Jimmy now finally tends to wake up happy from his night’s sleep. It does my heart good to walk into the room of a cheerful baby first thing in the morning (especially when I’m not a morning person myself, and I can never tell whether the girls are going to wake up on the right side of the crib)! Happy Easter from our house to yours! May you know the joy of eternal life through our Risen Savior! “Thorns wreathed Thy brow when hanging on the tree. Man’s cruelty! Why lavish love like this, O Lord, on me? Thou lovest me! Would that my soul could understand its length, Its breadth, depth, height, and everlasting strength!
Thy precious blood was freely shed for me, on Calvary To save me from a lost eternity; Glory to Thee! Nor death, nor hell, nor things below-above Can sever me from Thy eternal love.” The girls NEVER would have thought of standing on something to grab an out-of-reach contraband object. I’m not sure whether Jimmy’s ingenuity is due to his physical coordination or simply his willful personality! Although his physical coordination may also be in question, since he tumbled from his perch just seconds after I snapped the picture! |
