…at one day old, you were resting in your daddy’s arms…
…at one year old, you are swinging in the breeze.
Susanna Joy, we are so thankful for the laughter you have brought to our lives this past year. We thank the Lord for blessing us with your smiles and wiles. We look forward to this next year with you!
…at one day old, you were sleeping in my arms…
…at one year old, you are grinning with the sun on your face.
Rebecca Faith, we’re so thankful for the bliss you have brought to our lives this past year. We thank the Lord for entrusting you to our arms. We can’t wait to see what this next year will bring!
What a day! We had a birthday party for the girls on the boat, and we all came home happy and exhausted. I’ll post party pictures soon.
In the meantime, here are a few pictures of the girls in their “reading corner.†If I leave the girls alone in the living room, they usually migrate to this corner, where they happily start pulling the books off the shelf.
Susie: “I like to read one book at a time.â€
Becky: “I prefer to pull all the books out and look at each for two seconds.â€
Becky: “Hey! You got any more books around here?â€
What did Jim decide to give the girls for an early birthday present? Go ahead, guess…
No…it’s not a car or an ATV, although I’m sure he considered it.
You’re on the right track…what would Jim think every little girl needs…
…why, of course!
Her very own…
…Blackberry!
I’m not kidding. Jim found an old Blackberry he’s no longer using and presented it to the girls with a flourish. And they loved it. They can be just like their Daddy!
Becky: “Hey Dad, it looks just like yours! Can you show me how to use it?â€
Becky: “Okay, I think I’m getting the hang of it.â€
I haven’t gotten around to sorting through the dozens of vacation pictures yet, so I thought I’d post a video of Susie practicing her lawn mowing skills. Due to her precocious display of mowing muscle, Jim is anticipating an early retirement from lawn care.
Four score and seven years ago…we returned from a wonderful road trip to Pittsburg and Gettysburg (Well, I guess it’s more like four hours and seven minutes ago, but that doesn’t sound nearly as impressive, does it?).
I’ll be posting more details and photos soon, but since I’m about ready to fall asleep at my laptop, I’ll simply post this one representative picture. I picked it because it shows the girls in the stroller which they practically lived in this weekend, it features the lovely scenery of Gettysburg, it has a bit of American history, and it mentions a store (you can’t go to a tourist attraction and not shop!).
We had a great time – I can’t wait to tell you more about it!
I'm blessed to be saved by the grace of God, loved by my wonderful husband Jim, and embraced by my twin girls, Rebecca Faith and Susanna Joy and my sons Jimmy and Danny. I started this blog in May 2008 when I was hospitalized for pre-term labor at 24 weeks gestation. The Lord allowed me to keep the girls inside until they were 34 weeks along, and on July 27th, Rebecca made her debut, followed by Susanna, five minutes later, on July 28th. We ecstatically welcomed Jimmy into our lives on April 25th, 2011, and Danny on August 31, 2012. This blog has been a personal journal of faith and motherhood and the only way I can remember which child did what and when. Thanks for stopping by to share in my Faith and Joy! Feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected].
