Bring on Spring

The week after our Arizona family left, we experienced some amazingly warm temperatures, so the kids and I jumped at the chance to be outside!

Here’s Danny at our first picnic of the year:

And here he is showing Baby T the fine art of four-wheeler riding:

And grate-gazing.  What is it with kids and storm drains?  They’re like magnets!

Our first park outing:

I wish I could show you pictures of Baby T’s ear-to-ear grin while she was swinging.  She loved it almost as much as I loved watching her!  Bring on Spring!!

All Cracked Up

Extra protection from…airborne salmonella, perhaps?  One can never been too careful with food preparation safety!

So Much Fun

The fun continued with the cousins as we went on a carousel:

Filled our bags (and bellies) at the candy store:

Ate out at great restaurants:

And spent hours just playing and enjoying each others’ company:

I’m just deeply thankful that the kids all love being together as much as we grown-ups do!

As my last pictures from their wonderful visit, I wanted to share this before-and-after.  It makes me smile!

Here are the girls having a giggle-filled slumber party, and here they are a few hours later, happily exhausted from all the good times.

Now we’re dreaming of our next vacation together!!

Game Time

We crammed a lot of fun activities into our cousins’ visit!  We played games:

We went go-karting (where Becky and Jonathan participated in the super-fast junior race – we were so proud!):

More to come!

Snow is More Fun with Cousins

A few weeks ago, our Arizona family made the trip out to visit us here in Connecticut.  Thankfully, we still had some snow on the ground so they could get a taste of winter (even though the temps were marvelously warm!).

Super Baby!

Baby T is such a celebrity in our house that there have even been stories and cartoons written about her!  This is Susie’s latest installment:

Slingshot

Jimmy decided he wanted to make a slingshot.  He found a suitable forked stick and the two of us set to work to create the tool.  However, after assembly, the stick cracked and had to be discarded.  Undaunted, Jimmy decided to go out foraging for another stick.  I didn’t hear from him for a while, so I peeked out the window and this is what I saw:

Jimmy was hauling a small sapling up the snowy hill (in the bitter, windy cold) that he had found in the woods.  He was determined to saw it into pieces to craft a superior slingshot.  I couldn’t help but laugh at my little pioneer man braving the elements!  We didn’t end up making a working slingshot after all, but he got lots of points for effort in my book!
