June 6, 2016, at 10:14 pm | Danny approached me with a measuring tape in hand and asked to measure me. I said sure, and I helped him extend the tape from my feet to my head. Then he leaned down to see the number and announced, “Yup! You’re 50 million pounds!”

Danny was supposed to be cleaning the playroom, but didn’t seem to be making much progress. When I walked over to him, he clutched his mid-section and with said a pained expression, “I think I have a stomach ache from too much cleaning.”

Susie, after hearing me compliment her sister’s artistic skills: “Am I a good drawer?”
Me: “Yes! You just need to learn to slow down and be careful when you’re drawing.”
Susie: “Yeah, I do everything fast, like drawing, reading, writing…except running. I don’t run fast…and thinking. Yeah, I do everything fast except running and thinking.”

Dad, after coming home and hearing the kids had been swimming earlier that day: “How was the pool?”
Danny: “Great! Wet!”
*****
Me to Jimmy: “Did you brush your teeth?”
Jimmy: “Oh I don’t do that anymore.”

June 2, 2016, at 10:42 pm | Everything was absolutely perfect the day of Angie and Kevin’s wedding. It was such a joyful day! Our kids had a ball, and did really well with walking down the aisle (even though moments before it was his turn, Jimmy realized he had lost the ring on his ringbearer pillow! He panicked, but we assured him that his was a fake ring, and the real one was safe, so he could carry on like normal. The poor kid was so confused, but he did as he was told, and no one was the wiser!). The kids loved talking with all our friends and relatives, and they especially loved playing the cornhole game their Grandpa had made. It was a wonderful day for everyone!

The kids got a glimpse of the getaway car and had to try it out:

The morning after the wedding, we headed back to the San Francisco airport to fly home. It was a long day of travel, but it went really well. Farewell, California! Thanks for a fun trip!

May 30, 2016, at 9:40 pm | After visiting my Gramma, we headed several hours north to where my sister lives and was going to be getting married. It was such a beautiful drive. I love the California farmlands!

We met up with the bride-to-be for dinner. Our little monkeys were so excited to see her!:

The next day, we hit a local park:

And we were very tickled to be able to eat at both an In-and-Out burger and a Krispy Kreme Donuts within walking distance of each other. This was our kind of town!

Then it was rehearsal time! The kids wanted to make sure they knew what to do and when to do it. They were taking their roles very seriously!

ABOUT US I'm blessed to be saved by the grace of God, loved by my wonderful husband Jim, and embraced by my twin girls, Rebecca Faith and Susanna Joy and my sons Jimmy and Danny. I started this blog in May 2008 when I was hospitalized for pre-term labor at 24 weeks gestation. The Lord allowed me to keep the girls inside until they were 34 weeks along, and on July 27th, Rebecca made her debut, followed by Susanna, five minutes later, on July 28th. We ecstatically welcomed Jimmy into our lives on April 25th, 2011, and Danny on August 31, 2012. This blog has been a personal journal of faith and motherhood and the only way I can remember which child did what and when. Thanks for stopping by to share in my Faith and Joy! Feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected].
