Well, our family doesn’t do lazy-day summers, so almost as soon as we returned from Hershey, Jan and I took the kids to Hyde Park, NY to visit a few historical mansions. The history buffs among us were quite tickled to see the Vanderbilt Mansion and the Roosevelt homestead, and even the non-history buffs thought it was cool to see such huge homes! All of us really enjoyed the day trip. Now we need to go back and explore the walkway over the Hudson and see even more historical sites around there. Can’t wait until next summer!
