Becky is doomed to be an athlete.
I don’t say “doomed†because I’m not a sports fan, or because I’m opposed to my daughter playing them, but because the poor child doesn’t seem to have a choice in the matter.
I have two reasons for my admittedly premature conclusion.
First off, Becky has had a strange skin infection between her toes for the last few months. It’s responded to an over-the-counter cream, but she’s had repeated, unexplained outbreaks. The doctor examined her today and diagnosed her with – you guessed it – athlete’s foot.
Secondly, even though Becky has excellent coordination (at least, compared to her sister), she always seems to fall and bonk her noggin. She took a particularly hard spill a few days ago, and although she brushed off the injury after a brief crying session, she ended up with quite the mark on her head.
This mark looks suspiciously familiar.
I think she’s been branded by Nike.
Thanks for making me smile this morning! Someday your kids are going to love reading this! The Nike Swoosh is classic!!
You are too funny 🙂 So sorry to hear about the spill and the infection. Hope they both heal soon.
Emily,
You might just want to investigate that head bonking a little further…. I have it on good information that the trait sort of runs in the family. I have fond memories of all the bandaids Jim’s grandfather used to ‘sport’ on his noggin!
We love all the pictures of your girls, you really know how to capture the moments!
Janet – I hope the girls like reading it, and aren’t just embarrassed by all the tales I told!
Sandy – thanks for your comment! I think childhood injuries are tougher on the moms than the kids. Especially when it’s up to me to remember to apply medicine to my child’s feet three times a day – what a pain! 🙂
Barbara – I didn’t know that about Grampy – how funny! I’m glad to know we can honor his memory, even in that silly way!
