Whoever invented ring pops was a genius!
You may not realize it by looking at this picture, but these are two VERY happy young men. We attended a fishing presentation done by a local fisherman, and the boys won the raffle for a box of fancy fishing lures. They couldn’t have been more pleased! They may have no idea when or how to use these lures, but I have no doubt they’ll try! Watch out, fish!
Jim is still loving after-school flag football. I was going to write that he’s Tom Brady at heart, but I think my husband Jim would NOT be a fan of that comparison, so I’ll just say that Jim really, really loves playing/watching/discussing/arguing about/collecting cards for football. Especially if he can pretend he’s a Patriot. ;).
Our library has this awesome program where you can check out backpacks full of educational toys and books that center around a theme. It’s a brilliant idea! Here’s Tazie enjoying a “food” themed backpack, complete with a Melissa & Doug pizza set. Bon appetit!
A few weeks ago, Pappy took the boys to Cabella’s and bought them a hammock. That hammock has provided more entertainment than I ever thought possible! The boys love nothing better than running out to the woods in the afternoons and setting it up. I don’t think they actually sit still long enough in the hammock to enjoy its benefits, but they seem to adore the set-up/take-down process! Jimmy decided that he wanted his own personal hammock, so he ordered himself one with his own money. He’s been counting down the days until it was due to arrive, and he was one happy camper when it finally did! I think it’s a little bigger than he anticipated, but that just makes him even happier. Bigger is better!
We have a heating vent in our kitchen floor that the kids love to sit on in the winter. Here they are all trying to sit on it at the same time!
Sometimes taking a nap behind a couch on a pile of blankets is just irresistible! Don’t you just want to climb back there and join him?
P.S. Bonus points if you noticed he fell asleep clutching a little toy! |
