Danny loves many things, but reading has not been one of them. HOWEVER, he couldn’t have been more excited for the third Wings of Fire graphic novel to come out, because he knows his older siblings adore these dragon books and he did like the first three graphic novels. Since all the kids were equally eager to read the new book, I drew names to see who would get it first, and Danny won. It made me so happy to see him thrilled with reading!
I may not be able to get these kids to make their beds, but they sure do love to mop the floor! Here’s Jim showing off his handmade mopping shoes. 😉
And Tazie naturally felt that princess gear was required for the occasion. Call her Cinderella!
Sometimes the only thing that can get Danny moving in the morning are a few sips of my coffee (and a snuggle with his favorite blanket). Mornings are hard!
I love it when the kids agree to play Rummikub with me – my favorite!
A few weeks back, we had our annual Sunday School picnic, and it was so much fun! We had a great turnout, including some of Becky and Susie’s school friends, a fantastic speaker, and amazing weather. We pray the Lord will use that afternoon, and all our Gospel efforts, for His Glory!
I found this note on the floor. I think I must have secret agent animals in the house, lol!
Who are the kids who count down the days until the weekend? Becky, Susie, Jim and Danny! Who is the kid who counts down the days until her next school day? TAZIE! This kid is always SO excited for her preschool days!
I found this “schedule” written out by Susie a few weeks ago, which wasn’t unusual. Both she and Becky inherited my love for making to-do-lists and schedules. You’ll see she noted the time we were going to go pick up her glasses, and then go visit an orchard. What cracks me up is that Jimmy took it upon himself to insert his own item of business onto the daily schedule: “9:25 – Jim goes on Amazon to look for ‘beebee pistol.’ He wants another BB gun so badly that he’s playing mind games to make it happen!
(Just in case you were wondering, Jimmy’s wish did NOT come true. No weapon-shopping on Amazon for him!). Danny is learning to love his big brother’s favorite mall food: a big stuffed burrito. Here are my burrito-eating boys:

Yay for meals at the mall! A few weeks ago, Becky and Jim decided to go with their dad to help Pappy with his shop, and the other kids joined Bubba and I on an apple-picking excursion. It was a beautiful day, perfect for picking! We started off with a hay ride:
And then set off on foot in search of the best apples.
It wasn’t long before we found loads! We made sure to sample quite a few: Then we hit the corn maze. Susie was the only one who made it all the way through with me. Danny and Tazie decided they preferred to stay back with Bubba where they could see where they were going:
We did it!
