Can’t It Stay Summer?

Becky is missing the consistently hot temperatures of summer.  Every time the temp dips below 70, she bundles up!

Good thing we’ve had such a warm September (and plenty of warm blankets)!

Practicing Patience

Jim had been begging me for months to take him fishing, and we finally had a spare hour the other night to sneak out to a little stream and see what he could do.  Unfortunately, we didn’t see a single fish.  But we researched it a bit and he thinks the water conditions were too warm this time of year for trout (what he was hoping to catch).  We’ll keep trying!

Packing Lunches

Five kids in school = Five lunches and snacks to pack.  I used to have the kids pack their own lunches, but it was too chaotic on the kitchen.  Now I just try to do an assembly line every night after the kids are in bed.  Keeping growing kids’ bellies full is a full-time job!

Big Teeth

Danny lost his top center teeth a few months ago, and we all are shocked at the size of the new ones growing in!  He looks like a big kid with such big teeth!

Heart Map

Susie had to draw a “heart map” for one of her classes where she was supposed to include all the most influential people, places, things and events in her life.  I love her heart, literally and metaphorically!

Happy Birthday Danny

On Danny’s birthday, I told him he could pick anywhere or anything for dinner.  He chose Popeyes Chicken, so off we went!

He was very happy to eat all the chicken he wanted:

And then when we got home, he opened all the presents he wanted!

Happy Birthday to my sweet 7-year-old cuddle bug.  We love you!!

Pass the Pigs

We love this game!  And I especially love how everyone, youngest to oldest, gets in on the action!

Target Practice

When we had friends over for Labor Day, the boys couldn’t resist having some backyard target practice.  I cracked up seeing these little and big boys and their toys!

So Fast

See that helmeted blur in the picture below?

Yes, that’s my daughter.  Becky.

Becky is driving a dirt bike.  She’s done it several times now and fallen each time (not badly), but she’s gotten up and gotten back on every time.  And asked to go again.

I can’t even bear to watch her ride it makes me so nervous (I can’t watch the boys either!).  I don’t know how I’m going to survive once she starts driving cars.  That’s only FIVE YEARS AWAY!

Can I make her wear a helmet in the driver’s seat?

Shopping Fun

I don’t normally go outlet shopping, but when I do, it’s typically with my trusty shopping buddy Maria.  She has a knack for finding great stuff for great prices!  She invited Jan and I to come along on a shopping trip when she was in town, and I was excited for Tazie to join us on her first big-girl shopping excursion!  We didn’t buy much, but we had a great time!

Tazie liked trying on glasses best of all!
