May 7, 2011, at 9:48 pm | Nothing says Happy Mother’s Day to me like watching my big girls hold my little boy for the first time. We are so blessed!

May 6, 2011, at 10:26 pm | Jimmy’s first trip to the park last week was a little chilly:

But fortunately, we had a little more sunshine today, so my mom and I took the kiddos out for an afternoon at the park. It takes a little more gear to take three kids out than two!

Jimmy found the excursion uninspiring:

But the girls were very excited to play outside, especially since Grammie came equipped with new sand toys:

Hooray for fun in the sun!

May 5, 2011, at 9:57 pm | Yesterday I was taking pictures of Jimmy laying on a quilt when Becky decided to try to get in the shot as well.

I told Becky that I’d be happy to take her picture by herself, so she posed for me:

When I asked her to sit up and smile nicely, this is the position she assumed:

The End.
May 3, 2011, at 8:45 pm | When the girls aren’t clamoring to show their toys to baby Jimmy…

…who by the way thinks all the attention paid to him is rather sleep-inducing…

…they’re being happily entertained by their Grammie’s never-ending supply of new tricks and toys, like these paints:
You can see that Susie took a free-wheeling, outside-the-lines approach to color selection:

But she paid careful attention to her brush-holding form:

Whereas Becky preferred to keep her colors separate:

But wasn’t as concerned with the actual application of the paint:

It’s hard to believe that it won’t be long before I’ll be having to wash down the messy bodies of THREE messy artists!

April 30, 2011, at 3:27 pm | My current favorite things in the world (in no particular order):
1) The feel of a newborn’s soft downy head tucked under my chin accompanied by his contented sighs
2) The feel of my girls cuddled in my lap accompanied by their happy chatter
3) The feel of my sheets accompanied by the sleeping silence of three children
OK, OK, there is a particular order…Number 3 tops the list. I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder!
April 28, 2011, at 6:23 pm | I wish I had the time and energy to thoroughly relate some of my thoughts and feelings about the past few days, but I’m afraid I’ll have to settle for a few disjointed impressions:
1) Having a newborn (even just one!) is exhilarating and utterly exhausting
2) The girls are very sweet big sisters who want to lavish love on their baby brother, but we’ve had to keep them apart because Becky has a cold. I really wish I could let them hug and kiss him! (And especially get pictures of them all together).
3) It’s much tougher to stay up all night with a sleepless newborn when there are two other bundles of energy who need your attention in the daytime.
4) Grandparents are the absolute best!
Here are a few random pictures over the past few days:

April 26, 2011, at 3:29 pm | A guest post from Jim to add a few pictures of Baby Jimmy!

April 25, 2011, at 3:38 pm | Baby Jimmy arrived at 2:45pm eastern today, 4/25. He is 7lb 2oz and 19 inches long. He and mom are doing great! More to come later. – Dad

ABOUT US I'm blessed to be saved by the grace of God, loved by my wonderful husband Jim, and embraced by my twin girls, Rebecca Faith and Susanna Joy and my sons Jimmy and Danny. I started this blog in May 2008 when I was hospitalized for pre-term labor at 24 weeks gestation. The Lord allowed me to keep the girls inside until they were 34 weeks along, and on July 27th, Rebecca made her debut, followed by Susanna, five minutes later, on July 28th. We ecstatically welcomed Jimmy into our lives on April 25th, 2011, and Danny on August 31, 2012. This blog has been a personal journal of faith and motherhood and the only way I can remember which child did what and when. Thanks for stopping by to share in my Faith and Joy! Feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected].
