I’ve been trying to do different hair-do’s for Tazie now that she can be occupied by a TV show for 20 minutes or so. Many of my attempts have been less than stellar, but here’s one day that it turned out well. I think Tazie approved!

I’ve been trying to do different hair-do’s for Tazie now that she can be occupied by a TV show for 20 minutes or so. Many of my attempts have been less than stellar, but here’s one day that it turned out well. I think Tazie approved!
Danny has always loved to be in the kitchen with me. Here’s an apple tart we made together – it was so good I ate the rest after he went to bed!
Here are some more pictures from the pontoon we got to drive for a weekend. The kids were begging Jim to trade in the wakeboard boat for one with a slide and top deck!
Sorry for the long delay in publishing any posts! I had a combination of technical difficulties and a busy schedule, and now although things are still hectic around here (’tis the season!), at least Jim helped solve my picture-uploading problems! Yay for being married to such a smart and helpful guy! So now I can finally share the rest of our camping pictures with you. It makes me so happy to see these pictures of the kids enjoying the Connecticut shore. They all loved the beach that night – especially Tazie. She keeps asking to go back!
Over Labor Day weekend, we were fortunate enough to get a RV spot at our favorite camping area on the Connecticut shore. We had beautiful weather and a fun time just celebrating getting through the first few days of school! This was Tazie’s first time camping where she really “got” the whole concept. She was a big fan!
Of course, she had great camping role models!
And it was nice having kids big enough to help with some set up/clean up chores:
We got to the site in time to bike ride to the nearby nature center where the kids enjoyed seeing the creatures up close: There’s not much that makes these kids happier than a trip to the mall, mostly because of the food court. Becky, Susie, Danny, Tazie and I love Panda Express (I’m always amazed at how much Orange Chicken these kids can put away!)
But Jimmy? He does not like Chinese Food. Of any sort. At all. Fortunately, the food court has a Mexican restaurant where Jimmy buys the biggest burrito they make. And he eats most of it!!
It feels like we’ve been in this school year forever now, but it’s really only been a month and a half! The kids started off really, really well, especially considering that there were some big changes for them this year. IBecky and Susie are now in 5th grade, Jimmy is in 2nd, and Danny is in 1st. ‘m so proud of them!
Over Danny’s birthday weekend, we had the opportunity to take out a pontoon boat for a spin. The kids LOVED it, especially since it came equipped with a huge slide. I don’t think we see a pontoon boat in our near future (we like wake surfing too much, which you can’t do behind a propeller!), but it was a LOT of fun to ride!
OK, I’m finally getting around to Danny’s birthday party back in September! Our youngest boy turned SIX YEARS OLD. I still can’t believe it! On his actual birthday, we took him out to the family’s favorite Chinese restaurant for dinner with Jim’s parents. He was a very happy young man!
Then we threw him a bigger party with more of our favorite people. And since Danny adores the Pittsburgh Steelers football team, that’s the theme he chose. 🙂 Becky made a sign for the front door:
And then we hung up all the Steelers paraphernalia that Danny had gotten for his birthday. Instant decorations! We did football-themed food:
And hung out with our friends:
(Including our newest little friend!):
It was such a wonderful day celebrating a wonderful six-year-old! |
