August 8, 2017, at 10:04 pm | We’re still here! We’re having some minor technical issues as we change the way I upload photos…but never fear, my trust IT guy (love you, hon!) will give me my tutorial soon and we’ll be back in business! I have SO many pictures to post from this summer!!
August 5, 2017, at 11:06 pm | After we finished up at Fenway Park, we headed over to Quincy Market for lunch and they let the kids play near the waterfront while we took in the beautiful scenery. We all agreed Boston is so beautiful and fun to visit!

August 4, 2017, at 8:39 pm | Once we got back from the Jersey shore, we hit the ground running and packed back up for a quick trip to Boston to see Jim’s brother-in-law’s old stomping grounds. We stayed at a hotel, which was the first time in a while our kids have done so, and boy, they would have been thrilled with an entire vacation just spent in the hotel! We even made an entire meal whipped up from the nearby convenience store’s microwavable food section, and the kids thought they hit the jackpot. And then came the continental breakfast the next morning! Susie was so pleased with the experience that she left the following note in our hotel room. She’s such a cutie!
We tore ourselves away from the hotel and drove into downtown Boston to visit Fenway Park, the home of the Boston Red Sox. My sister-in-law treated us all to a tour of the stadium, and we ALL loved it. I’m not even a huge baseball fan, and I thought it was fascinating! Jimmy, my baseball AND history aficionado, was especially ecstatic.

August 2, 2017, at 10:12 pm | We started off the day with a rainy salute to the flag:

Then we went to the beach for one last time:

And the rides again, including Tazie’s first carousel ride (which she LOVED!):

What a wonderful vacation!

July 28, 2017, at 10:21 pm | The next day, Pappy took the boys for a special breakfast (he took the girls a different day):

It was a picture-perfect day!

Nothing like washing the beach off you with a dip in the hot tub:

Then we got gussied up for picture night!

But first, we had to do some go-karting:

Family pictures! Don’t they clean up well?!

The kids won fidget spinners at a fun shooting game:

My favorite boardwalk dessert – waffles and ice cream at Prep’s!:

Beautiful evening:

July 26, 2017, at 11:11 pm | We started off the next day with another fun bike ride:

And some deck lounging:

Followed by a great trip to the waterpark directly on the boardwalk:

Tazie wasn’t very sure about the water…she spent most of our time there frantically trying to climb up my legs, but eventually she did figure out that the water was pretty fun. Especially once the big kids came back to the splash pad and showed her all the cool stuff there!

We spent a little time at the beach, even though it was a bit cold for Becky’s taste:

Although Susie and Katie didn’t mind! They hit the waves like pros:

Then we all refueled at our favorite nightly Greek restaurant:

And finished the night off with the rides! Becky made her second (or third?) trip of the week to the Double Shot:

Although Susie isn’t an amusement park daredevil like her sister, she still enjoys herself!

Even Danny tried out the swings, as long as his Daddy was close by:

Jimmy cracks me up!

July 25, 2017, at 11:49 pm | We started out the next day with a stroll and a basketball game. I love how the big kids let our little ones get involved!

Our competitive guys decided to take their game to the nearby shuffleboard court. Jimmy brought his A game and kept up with the men! Tazie was an enthusiastic cheerleader. 🙂

Then we hit the beach! The kids never get tired of burying each other!

Then we swapped the salt and sand for some good old fashioned chlorine! Jimmy enjoyed the hot tub!

Oh, we love our family!

The rain was coming, so we hit the laser maze!

We made it home just before the rain hit!

We holed up in the condo and watched a movie – the big guys liked it just as much as the kids!

July 23, 2017, at 8:18 pm | It’s that time of year again! We had an awesome time in Ocean City at the end of June – it was a great way to kick off summer 2017!
As soon as we got to Ocean City, the girls requested their first (of many) Kohr Brothers ice cream cones!
That night, we hit the rides, and Danny was amazed as ever that his big siblings were willing to scare themselves silly on adventurous rollercoasters:

Danny decided to stick lower to the ground:

The girls were jubilant to finally be in their favorite place on earth (Uncle Jon was pretty happy to finally be on vacation too)!

Bright and early the next day, we hit the boardwalk on wheels. It was so nice to have the big kids independently mobile. Jim took the big kids on rides almost every day, up and down the boardwalk – often for donuts!

Later, we hit the beach and then relaxed on the patio deck:

Then it was time for go-karts! Becky drove her own for the first time!

Followed up by more rides!

Jimmy tackled the infamous Double Shot for the first time and LOVED it!

July 21, 2017, at 12:39 am | Jimmy: “I wish I had a magic stick that could do anything.”
Me: “What would you do?”
Jimmy: “I would make waffles every day, make new walkie talkies, and vanish people.”
Me: “Who would you want to vanish?”
Jimmy: “Bad guys. And Danny.”
*********
Jimmy, pointing to a nearby water bottle: “Who bringed this?”
Susie, exasperated: “It’s not who bringed this, it’s who brang this!!”
***********
Danny attempted (unsuccessfully) to rollerblade for about 15 minutes in the driveway. When I was helping him get his rollerblades off, he said, "I don’t need help anymore. I’m a professional now."
**********
Danny: “Bad guys are really bad. That’s why they’re named bad guys.” (Jimmy made identical quote years ago!)
**********
Danny: “Tazie has a power that bad guys don’t like. She has spit.”

ABOUT US I'm blessed to be saved by the grace of God, loved by my wonderful husband Jim, and embraced by my twin girls, Rebecca Faith and Susanna Joy and my sons Jimmy and Danny. I started this blog in May 2008 when I was hospitalized for pre-term labor at 24 weeks gestation. The Lord allowed me to keep the girls inside until they were 34 weeks along, and on July 27th, Rebecca made her debut, followed by Susanna, five minutes later, on July 28th. We ecstatically welcomed Jimmy into our lives on April 25th, 2011, and Danny on August 31, 2012. This blog has been a personal journal of faith and motherhood and the only way I can remember which child did what and when. Thanks for stopping by to share in my Faith and Joy! Feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected].
