I continued to be amazed with how well Jimmy has taken to Kindergarten. He loves every part of it, and gets on the bus each morning with a smile and a wave. He’s starting to sound out words when he writes (he even wrote me an unprompted note the other day, and I could READ it!!), he’s enjoying playing with kids at recess, and his shaky penmanship is getting better and better. He’s even expertly navigating some tricky waters – case in point: An older kid on the bus accused Jimmy and some other Kindergarten boys of being “dumb” when the boys admitted they didn’t know the answer to a 100 + 100. Jimmy quickly retorted, “Well, do you know John 3:16?” And when the child said no, Jimmy quoted it in full. So even though I’m not sure Jimmy’s heart was in the right place (since I think he was just subtly implying the other kid was “dumb” too!), I was proud he was thinking on his feet, and that his first thoughts were of Scripture!

October 24, 2016, at 8:49 pm | Even though this isn’t a clear picture, I wanted to document how awesome it is to have all four kids playing together in the evenings on the trampoline. Now that the weather is too cold for the pool, I’m so glad they have the trampoline on which to expend their evening energy – and I’m even more glad they can do it together! It’s balm to this mama’s heart every time I see them playing like a team!

October 18, 2016, at 11:49 pm | Sometimes breakfast just tastes better under a tent!

October 17, 2016, at 10:05 pm | The kids and I were thrilled we got to attend a church Sunday School picnic a few weeks ago. We look forward to it all year! The message was amazing, as were the games, crafts, and prizes (I mean, how often can a kid win a container of lollipops half as big as he is?!). Can’t wait until next year!

October 16, 2016, at 10:31 pm | We were excited that our friends Ashley and Uriah were able to join us for boating over the Labor Day weekend. Their kids are growing up so fast! Here are the boys trying to fix the toy Jeep together:

And here are the boys who refuse to grow up, ha!

And isn’t their daughter the cutest thing ever??

ABOUT US I'm blessed to be saved by the grace of God, loved by my wonderful husband Jim, and embraced by my twin girls, Rebecca Faith and Susanna Joy and my sons Jimmy and Danny. I started this blog in May 2008 when I was hospitalized for pre-term labor at 24 weeks gestation. The Lord allowed me to keep the girls inside until they were 34 weeks along, and on July 27th, Rebecca made her debut, followed by Susanna, five minutes later, on July 28th. We ecstatically welcomed Jimmy into our lives on April 25th, 2011, and Danny on August 31, 2012. This blog has been a personal journal of faith and motherhood and the only way I can remember which child did what and when. Thanks for stopping by to share in my Faith and Joy! Feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected].
