November 27, 2011, at 10:33 pm | A little over a week ago, if you had told me I was going to spend Thanksgiving in sunny Arizona, I would have said you were delightfully deluded. But spend it there we did! A week ago Friday, we booked an impromptu flight to surprise our niece Alli for an early 16th birthday present and spend some much-needed time with our family out there. It was a little (well, very) overwhelming to pack us up for an out-of-state visit with only three days notice, but I’m so glad we did. It was worth every minute on the airplane with three young children, and that’s saying something!

November 24, 2011, at 9:42 pm | I’m so thankful. Thankful for my salvation, for my family, for my friends. And this Thanksgiving, I’m so thankful that my children love each other. By next year, Jimmy will probably be driving his sisters crazy, but right now…well, I’ll let these pictures speak for themselves. I think they’re pretty fond of each other!

November 22, 2011, at 8:49 pm | A few weeks ago, we tried to go to a local park, but it was cordoned off for construction. So we found a place to lay out a blanket and I told the girls to go play. And play they did! They found some fruit that had fallen off a tree and pretended they were “eggs.” They hid the “eggs” in the crook of a tree, along with a necklace Becky had stowed away. It was quite the treasure trove they created, and it entertained them for far longer than the park play structure ever did. I’m not a very spontaneous person, but I’m learning that sometimes improvisation leads to the most fun!

November 21, 2011, at 9:39 pm | I guess there an upside to my rather-infrequent vacumming habit…

…Jimmy has lots of crumbs, scraps and fuzz to entertain him on the floor!
November 20, 2011, at 8:56 pm | I haven’t taken many fall pictures this year (I kinda dropped the ball on all fall-related activities this year – no apple picking, no fall decorations, no trick-or-treating, a trip to the grocery store in lieu of the pumpkin patch…good thing the kids are too young to notice!), but I finally snapped a few photos of the kids playing in a leaf pile that Jim created for them. You’ll notice the last picture is of Jim and Jimmy in the tractor. Jim used the tractor to push the leaves into the woods (any excuse to use that thing!), and Jimmy was much happier on his daddy’s lap than in the leaf pile. Boys and their tractors!

November 18, 2011, at 10:38 pm | When did I give her permission to get so tall?

November 17, 2011, at 9:16 pm | Guess who is the early riser in this picture?

Yup, the little man missing a sock. He’s about to go down for his morning nap, while his daddy is just getting up for the day. Wish we could all take morning naps!
November 16, 2011, at 9:04 pm | Introducing the newest swing-loving member of the family: Jimmy!

Jimmy: “Wow! Why didn’t anyone tell me about this before?”

Jimmy: “I can feel the wind in my (one) hair!”

Jimmy: “I’m learning from my sister, the pro!”
Becky volunteered to push Jimmy for his inaugural ride, much to his (and her) delight:

ABOUT US I'm blessed to be saved by the grace of God, loved by my wonderful husband Jim, and embraced by my twin girls, Rebecca Faith and Susanna Joy and my sons Jimmy and Danny. I started this blog in May 2008 when I was hospitalized for pre-term labor at 24 weeks gestation. The Lord allowed me to keep the girls inside until they were 34 weeks along, and on July 27th, Rebecca made her debut, followed by Susanna, five minutes later, on July 28th. We ecstatically welcomed Jimmy into our lives on April 25th, 2011, and Danny on August 31, 2012. This blog has been a personal journal of faith and motherhood and the only way I can remember which child did what and when. Thanks for stopping by to share in my Faith and Joy! Feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected].
