April 17, 2012, at 10:06 pm | I really need to buy this kid some seeds so she can plant something that will actually GROW, unlike the beheaded dandelions she keeps trying to plant!
April 16, 2012, at 10:26 pm | Today was the first really warm spring day we’ve had here at home, and the kids enjoyed it by playing outside for hours this morning. Hours! Which meant I even got to read part of the paper and drink some coffee while I watched them play. Perfection!
April 15, 2012, at 10:05 pm | You know you’re a mom when…
…you go to put on your shoes and find they’re full of partially chewed Cheez-Its.
You know how little kids say they want to be a teacher, or a doctor (or in my case, an airline ticket agent) when they grow up?
Well, the girls have pretty different ideas about their future…
Susie: “When I grow up, I’m going to be a mommy and eat gum.”
Becky, Option 1: “When I grow up, I’m going to wear red make-up on my toes.”
Becky, Option 2: “When I grow up, I’m going to be a mermaid. And a unicorn.”
April 13, 2012, at 10:09 pm | Jimmy: “Now that I’m walking, I can do anything my sisters can do, like follow them over monkey bars…”
“…or help them dig in the sand…”
“…or stick out my tongue. See? Just like a big kid!”
April 12, 2012, at 9:54 pm | Yes, my child is wearing ALL her clothes backwards. On purpose.
I guess she wants to look good, coming and going!
(And that’s not all she’s got backwards. While she was happily eating brownies for dessert tonight, I heard Becky singing to herself: “Everything I like to eat is healthy, and everything I don’t like to eat is not”).
April 11, 2012, at 9:36 pm | Drumroll, please! Jimmy is WALKING! Here’s a brief snippet of one of his jaunts today. Please excuse his hiked-up pants, the scattered toys, and Becky’s mismatched dress tucked into her pants. This video is a slice of our life around here – crazy, messy, and now ambulatory!
April 10, 2012, at 10:41 pm | Jimmy refuses to keep socks and shoes on his feet while in the car, so I’ve resorted to putting him in his car seat barefoot and then quickly putting on socks and shoes when we arrive at our destination. This strategy usually works…except when I leave the house in a frenzy and grab two different sneakers (both left feet, incidentally).
Good thing you don’t need matching shoes to enjoy the swings!
April 9, 2012, at 10:03 pm | It’s taken a long time, but Jimmy now finally tends to wake up happy from his night’s sleep. It does my heart good to walk into the room of a cheerful baby first thing in the morning (especially when I’m not a morning person myself, and I can never tell whether the girls are going to wake up on the right side of the crib)!
April 8, 2012, at 9:41 pm | Happy Easter from our house to yours!
May you know the joy of eternal life through our Risen Savior!
“Thorns wreathed Thy brow when hanging on the tree. Man’s cruelty!
Why lavish love like this, O Lord, on me? Thou lovest me!
Would that my soul could understand its length,
Its breadth, depth, height, and everlasting strength!
Thy precious blood was freely shed for me, on Calvary
To save me from a lost eternity; Glory to Thee!
Nor death, nor hell, nor things below-above
Can sever me from Thy eternal love.”
April 6, 2012, at 9:56 pm | It won’t be long before the girls are engrossed in their homework…
…but I have a feeling Jimmy may not be quite so focused on his studies…
Jimmy: “What?? This isn’t an Apple? I can’t work on this thing!”

ABOUT US I'm blessed to be saved by the grace of God, loved by my wonderful husband Jim, and embraced by my twin girls, Rebecca Faith and Susanna Joy and my sons Jimmy and Danny. I started this blog in May 2008 when I was hospitalized for pre-term labor at 24 weeks gestation. The Lord allowed me to keep the girls inside until they were 34 weeks along, and on July 27th, Rebecca made her debut, followed by Susanna, five minutes later, on July 28th. We ecstatically welcomed Jimmy into our lives on April 25th, 2011, and Danny on August 31, 2012. This blog has been a personal journal of faith and motherhood and the only way I can remember which child did what and when. Thanks for stopping by to share in my Faith and Joy! Feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected].
