August 30, 2012, at 10:34 pm | Well, tomorrow’s the day we’ll meet our baby boy, Lord willing! Tonight, I sat the girls down for a little pre-baby interview. You’ll see that Becky’s a little giddy and Susie’s a little tired, thanks to the excitement of their first day of pre-school (which went really well!), but they’re both thrilled to welcome their brother into the family. I went back and watched the videos that the girls made prior to Jimmy’s birth (here and here), and I just can’t believe how much younger the girls seemed 16 months ago. It makes me so excited to watch all my kids grow up together!
August 29, 2012, at 9:27 pm | Okay, baby can come now! Grammie’s here!!!
August 28, 2012, at 10:22 pm | The kids adore being at Bubba and Pappy’s house. Especially when they get to spend time on the front porch swinging and singing…
…and smooching!
August 27, 2012, at 8:56 pm | Whether you’re on three wheels…
…or just two…
…there’s nothing better than the wind in your hair…
…and your toes!

August 24, 2012, at 11:02 pm | Have I mentioned lately how blessed I feel to have these two girls in my life?
And how blessed they are to have each other?
August 23, 2012, at 9:44 pm | I’ve been tempted a time or two to require Jimmy to wear full-time head protection, given his fearlessness and boldness.
And now, thanks to his love for his sisters’ new helmets, I’m happy to say he’s doing it voluntarily…
…However, in exchange for head protection…
…he may end up needing neck adjustments…
…those helmets are heavy!
August 22, 2012, at 10:55 pm | Even though the girls took two weeks of daily swim lessons at the town beach this summer, they’re not much closer to actually swimming. They’re very comfortable with flotation devices, but have yet to venture out unassisted. One of the main hold-ups is their inability to dunk their heads underwater. They just haven’t figured out how to hold their breath. But Jim got them these goggles that seal off their noses, and that’s helped them get a little bolder.
I’m just glad they love the water!
August 21, 2012, at 10:11 pm | Last Sunday night, we met my in-laws at the bike trail. Jimmy led the way. I think he was a born navigator.
I did manage to walk (waddle) for a ways down the path and back, but this bench looked too inviting to pass up. The girls only joined me on the bench after peddling their little hearts out on their big-wheelers.
Nothing like a sweet ending to a summer day!
August 20, 2012, at 9:57 pm | We had a wonderful visit from our friend Phebe and her family on Saturday. Her daughter is one year older than our girls, and her son is one year older than Jimmy, so all the kids thoroughly enjoyed their time together (and Phebe and I loved watching them entertain each other!). Make way for the next generation of hardcore boaters!
Boating is all about the food…
…and the chats…
…and the thrill of behind behind the wheel…
…and the amazing uncles who take you for tube rides!
Here are the kids fueling up after their high-speed adventures:
The end of a fantastic day with beloved friends!

ABOUT US I'm blessed to be saved by the grace of God, loved by my wonderful husband Jim, and embraced by my twin girls, Rebecca Faith and Susanna Joy and my sons Jimmy and Danny. I started this blog in May 2008 when I was hospitalized for pre-term labor at 24 weeks gestation. The Lord allowed me to keep the girls inside until they were 34 weeks along, and on July 27th, Rebecca made her debut, followed by Susanna, five minutes later, on July 28th. We ecstatically welcomed Jimmy into our lives on April 25th, 2011, and Danny on August 31, 2012. This blog has been a personal journal of faith and motherhood and the only way I can remember which child did what and when. Thanks for stopping by to share in my Faith and Joy! Feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected].
