I don’t know what the girls are doing here, but I know they’re having fun doing it!
Becky wanted to look like a ballerina, so she had the idea to fashion a hair accessory out of a Barbie skirt.
We were both pleased with the results!

I still can’t believe I have TWO sons. And I can’t believe they’re already annoying each other! Jimmy’s favorite thing to do in the car is scream as soon as Danny quiets down so that Danny starts wailing again. Once Danny calms himself, Jimmy screams yet again. And the pattern continues. And when we’re home, if Danny’s arm or leg accidentally brushes – ever so lightly – Jimmy’s body, Jimmy gets an incredibly offended, pained look on his face. Then he points to the part of his body that was touched and whimpers pitifully as if Danny had just karate-chopped him. Oh brother! While reading a book with the girls about Snow White, I pointed out how nice it was of the princess to help the dwarfs clean up their cottage. I wanted to motivate the girls to help me more around the house, so I pointed to a picture of Snow White making the dwarfs’ beds, and I said, “We should do that!” Becky looked at the picture, and then suggested, “Maybe Bubba can do that, so we won’t have to work anymore!” I’ll have to tell Bubba (my mother-in-law) that all her helping out around our house is giving my lazy little dwarfs the wrong idea! Danny had his first taste of solid food yesterday and he took it well! His siblings were a very boisterous cheering section. When I told Jimmy we were giving his little brother some cereal, Jimmy promptly ran to the cupboard, grabbed a box of Honey Bunches of Oats, and placed it on the counter. I don’t know if it was supposed to be for him or Danny, but it made me laugh! Whether asleep… …or awake… …this guy makes me smile! Danny just had his 4 month check-up and weighed in at 15 lbs (just over 50th percentile), and measured 24.5 inches tall (25-50th percentile). He’s getting more and more laid-back as he gets older; he’s probably the most relaxed of all the kids so far. He giggles when I change his diaper or tickle his neck. His smiles start out shy and then get increasingly broader and spread over his whole face. He loves to play with toys within reach when he’s sitting in his bouncy seat. He’s nursing really well, but doesn’t take a bottle. I’ll be starting solid foods soon – I hope he likes it! I wake him up just enough to feed him before I go to bed, and he then wakes up to eat once more each night, and then sleeps until 7:30 or 8:00 before he’s up for the day. He wants to sleep in just one area of his crib, tucked into the corner with his head against the bumper – if I put him elsewhere, he squirms back into his favorite position. He loves to be held and is almost always happy as long as he’s in someone’s lap. I love this kid! |
