Danny will have this ride-on four-wheeler fixed up in no time! (Irregardless of the fact it was not in need of repair. It’s always a good time to use tools in Danny’s world!)
Last week, we had the pleasure of attending a “Farm Day” with our friends at a nearby farm where the kids got to pet animals, explore tractors, take a hay ride, and complete a fun scavenger hunt. It was a gorgeous fall day in a gorgeous location!
This post is over a month late, but I wanted to document Jimmy’s first at-home haircut, courtesy of his brave dad. Jim (my husband) had bought electric clippers years ago in the hopes that I could trim his hair, but I never had the nerve. So I was very glad when Jim volunteered to put those clippers to use on our mop-headed son!
(Sidenote: Danny’s face in the first photo CRACKS ME UP. He makes that face all the time when he’s unnerved by something, and unfortunately all I do is laugh instead of help the poor kid out!) Jim brought me home a pot of flowers the other day (so sweet!), and the kids love them just as much as I do. Here is Susie displaying her affection for them:
And of course, when one kid gets a picture taken, a few more jump in!
And here’s Danny displaying his sense of smell, as well as his sense of goofiness:
I never knew flowers could be so entertaining! Becky: “Susie, what if one day we watched TV, and then we went to the fair, and then we went to the mall late at night…that would be the BEST day next to Heaven! Oh, and it would be with Jon and Kate and Alli, Grammie and Grampa and Aunt Angie – and all our whole family that is alive…and Chris and Sarah!” ****** Susie: ‘Snuggling makes me happy…and kneeboarding.” ****** Me: “Jimmy, why didn’t you take a nap?” Jimmy, holding up a toy train: “I accidentally played with this toy because I was too sleepy to sleep.” ******* I heard this exchange over the monitor during the boys’ “nap”: Jimmy: “Her name is Emily.” Danny: “No, mommy.” Jimmy: “No, Emily.” Danny: “No, mommy!” ******** Me, to the boys: “What’s your favorite dinner? Jimmy: “Hashbrowns!” Danny: “Hashbrowns and motorcycles!” |
