Snow Go

OK.  So we’re supposed to get some SERIOUS snow tomorrow night.  I’m hoping and praying the weathermen are exaggerating about the whole 2-3 feet accumulation thing, but I guess time will tell.  I’m having some apocalyptic-type visions of being stuck in a powerless house with only bagels and Goldfish crackers to feed my family…but I guess the kids would actually be quite happy with that arrangement.  ;)

So before we get buried up to our knees (or up to Danny’s nose) in the white stuff, I’ll post a few pictures of a not-very-exciting snowfall we had a while back.  Actually, it was very exciting for the kiddos – they were just thrilled they got to put on their snow gear and roll around outside.  The girls had grand aspirations of creating snowmen, but with the consistency of the snow, they had to get a little creative:

And here’s Jimmy doing the best snow angel he could, given the shallow depth!

I had seen the idea to bring out sand toys so kids could play in the snow.  And it would have worked great – if it wasn’t so cold that the kids needed mittens!  They couldn’t really manipulate shovels and buckets too well when their little hands were finger-less.  But they enjoyed trying!

Love the melted ‘faux’ snowman ! Good luck with your storm. Hope it’s enough snow for the kids to get a “snow day”,but not enough to lose power .
