Saturday Work and Play

We found ourselves very busy on a recent Saturday!  The big girls and I were thrilled to be able to attend a baby shower for a dear friend (she’s going to make the BEST mom!):

While Daddy held down the home front and entertained the younger three.  He made sure once we all got home that we pitched in and helped with all the yardwork.  It’s been a very windy winter and spring, so he’s had to do a lot of tree clean-up around the property.  Good thing we have so many kids and toys to help with the job!

Great Minds Think Alike

Apparently our baby names were influenced by the Peppa Pig books!  Maybe we should switch Tazie and Jimmy to Candy and Pedro!

Late Snow

The day after Easter here, it felt like April Fool’s Day all over again – we woke up to a winter wonderland!  It didn’t stay around very long, but it was beautiful while it lasted!

Market Day

The kids had the grand idea to set up tables and sell their unwanted items to their siblings.  They took a lot of pride in carefully displaying and pricing each item, and the kids spent a whole evening going around to each other’s table and buying/trading items.  I was asked to participate as well, but I had a hard time buying items that I had bought in the first place, ha!  In the end, each kid ended up with about as much stuff as they started with, but at least it was more exciting stuff than they had before!

Waiting for Spring

As we wait for spring to hit New England, we’ve tried to be creative with our time.  We’ve bundled up for outdoor walks:

Taken advantage of puddles and drain pipes to make mud soup:

Invited friends over for pizza parties:

Cuddled up for movie watching:

And even tried our hand at baking bread!  This is the first time I’ve ever had something successfully rise using yeast.  I’m calling it a success!

So while I’m very eager for the expected warm-up this weekend, I’m thankful for all the ways we’ve made the most of these chilly days!

Lego Lover

Here’s Susie’s latest Lego creation that she purchased herself.  It only took her a morning to complete – next time, she’ll need to go bigger!

Arizona Party

The day after the wedding, we were so thankful we could stay to attend Jon and Julie’s open house (we were originally scheduled to fly home that day, but weather delayed us one extra day and thanks to an amazing babysitter for Tazie who weathered the storm at home with her, we got to spend one more day in the Arizona sunshine).

Of course, competitive badminton was organized:

And delicious food was served:

And cute babies were snuggled:

And good talks were had:

And card games were played:

And dogs were hugged:

And happy couples were celebrated!

More Wedding Pics

OK, more wedding pictures!  Here comes the bride!!

It was a lovely ceremony performed by a good friend of Alli’s family (who also happened to be Erik’s uncle):

Presenting the happy couple!

Jon and Julie put on an amazing day for everyone.  It was just perfect!

And even though my kids eventually got a bit tired of posing for pictures, they all did really well!

Alli’s Wedding

I can’t believe I still haven’t gotten around to sharing pictures of our beloved niece Alli’s wedding!!  It was a fantastic whirlwind of a weekend, and we’re so happy for Alli and her new husband, Erik.

We flew in the night before the wedding, so the next day we got all gussied up for the big event!

The drive from Phoenix to Sedona gave Danny a chance to charge his batteries. 😉

The other kids were jazzed!

It was a beautiful location, inside and out.

The girls had the privilege of passing out programs:

All the boys had to do was stand around and look good.  Easy peasy.

Jonathan was a ring bearer and Katelyn was one of the flower girls:

The proud siblings!

The grandparents!

We couldn’t wait to see Alli walk down the aisle:
