Woodland Creatures

I love seeing the kids enjoy the wooded area in our back yard.  The other day, they spent an hour just stomping around the stream out back, experimenting with sending notes in buckets and using snow sleds as surf boards!  Their imaginations crack me up!

Okay, we’ve finally come to the last of the Florida pictures!

Here we are getting in a round of mini-golf.  The kids are definitely getting better every year!

And here we are enjoying the timeshare’s water park.  It was perfect for the hot day we ended up with at the end of the week.  We were happy to lounge in the sun while the kids played!

We also made sure to visit the arcade, where we managed to drop a lot of money in a very short time, ha! 🙂

I love it when the kids are young enough to think they’re playing a game even when it hasn’t been turned on!

And last but not least, we snuck in a few rounds of our favorite competitive sport in Florida – shuffleboard!

We’re so thankful for the great week!

We visited Epcot’s France…

Ooh la la!

And we visited England – my favorite because of the adorable tea shop and gardens, and Jon’s favorite because of the fish and chips!

We had so much fun!

Here was Jim’s favorite part – hanging out in Adirondack chairs with the boys while the girls hit the gift shop!

And we finished off the outing with the spectacular fireworks display.  What a day!

Next up at Epcot, we tried to introduce Tazie to her first Disney character.  She was loving it the whole time we waited in line until we got right up to Pluto, and then she was NOT inching any closer!

At least the big girls got a Pluto hug!  I don’t have too many memories of going to Disneyland when I was a young kid, but I do remember how excited I was to get the characters to sign my autograph book.  I just think there’s something so fun about meeting those big guys!

Susie thoroughly enjoyed visiting the gift shops and getting a snack while Becky was off going a spaceship ride.  This was more her pace!

But we eventually met back up and saw an impressive show about American History in the U.S. section.

Jimmy showed off some of his karate moves in front of a Japanese gate:

And then I had to include this picture of a somber Danny after he had put up a fuss about something silly.  We told him that one day, when he was all grown-up, we’d show him the picture of how mad he was we were making him go to the bathroom when he didn’t want to.  So here you go, Danny – it’s now recorded for posterity!

Fortunately, the Disney magic did the trick and Danny recovered his good spirits and was on his best behavior the rest of the day. 😉

I’ll post the final Epcot pictures soon!

The next day in Florida, we visited Disney’s Epcot.  I hadn’t been there since before we had kids, so I was really eager to see it again.  And as usual, Disney did not disappoint.  The park was absolutely beautiful, especially because they were doing a flower festival with elaborate floral displays throughout the place.

Here’s little Tazie dressed in her princess hat and Mickey shirt, ready for her first trip to Disney!

The girls are Disney pros by now!

The kids didn’t want to stand still for so many pictures, but we were determined to document the moments:

See all the gorgeous flowers?

And of course, there were lots of fun activities.  We didn’t do many rides because the lines were so long, but we enjoyed just walking around to the different “countries” and seeing all the sights:

More Epcot pictures to come!

The best part of Florida was hanging out with our Arizona family, who arrived late Tuesday night.  We didn’t waste any time going to our favorite places together!  We walked around Celebration:

Well, some of us hitched a ride!

The kids were thrilled to see so many pet dogs:

The kids made their obligatory run through the fountains:

Even Tazie got in on the act this year!

Later that night, we went to Disney Springs and ate at the Rainforest Cafe:

Then we shopped:

And played:

And posed:

(Check out the kids posing with this gold-painted street performer!)

And ate (yay for Ghiradelli ice cream!):

Our family took a wonderful trip to Florida last week, and I so wish we were back there (especially since it’s so cold and snowy here in New England!).  I’m finally getting a chance to sort through our pictures.  Here’s the first batch!

Here are Susie and Tazie eagerly awaiting our late-night flight.  Since we didn’t fly until after 10pm that night, I was sure that Tazie would sleep on the plane – but she proved to be a very energetic passenger!   She didn’t conk out until after we had landed and nearly gotten to the condo, which was in the middle of the night!  She was clearly as excited as I was to be in Florida. 😉

The next day we spent relaxing around the timeshare with Jim’s parents, and we ended the day at Macaroni Grill where we were treated to a very educational balloon artist who gave us physics and biology lessons while making his creations.

The next day we headed over to visit relatives in Tampa.  Jim’s cousin and his family had moved down there from Pennsylvania a few years ago, and we loved getting to see them enjoy their new home.  They are living on a little farm, complete with horses and cows.  My kids were overjoyed to get to spend the afternoon outside in the sunshine, feeding the horses and playing with the kids.  I think the happiest of all our kids was Tazie – she didn’t want to leave!  I didn’t want to leave either, since it had been so long since I got to chat with my dear friend Amanda.  I loved getting to see her and her family in their beautiful home.

Think Outside the Bun

Where do my kids request to go when they have a random school holiday in February?  Why, Taco Bell, of course!  These kids can put away a crazy number of tacos and quesadillas!

Danny’s Tooth

Danny lost his first tooth!  He actually had no idea it was even loose until it came out!  He couldn’t have been happier!

He now has another loose bottom tooth, and he’s enjoying the wiggly phase very much.  He’s thrilled to finally be catching up to the big kids in the tooth department!
