April 19, 2011, at 11:34 pm | Now that I’m a little over 38 weeks pregnant and could feasibly (and safely!) deliver any day now, I figured I better get a few last pictures to document this little guy’s growth inside my belly.
Here we are, just him and me:
And here we are joined by his proud big sisters (and in case you were wondering, the girls are standing on little chairs, per their request, so they could reach my midsection):
This baby is going to be VERY loved!
(And for anyone interested, here’s a link to a picture I put on the blog in July 2008 when I was 33 weeks pregnant with the girls. If I remember correctly, a twin pregnancy usually tracks about 5-6 weeks ahead in terms of size, so I’m roughly the same size now at 38 weeks as I was then. But boy am I much more comfortable now!).
April 18, 2011, at 10:00 pm | Ever feel like you’re pushing something heavy uphill?
Ever feel like gravity is working against you?
Ever feel like growling at the world?
Maybe it’s time to sit down and let someone else do the pushing for a little while.
It just may make everyone happy!
April 17, 2011, at 9:34 pm | Our next door neighbors have three boys, and the mom often tells me how much she misses having girls around. She called me up the other day and told me she saw something at the store that she couldn’t pass up and hoped our girls would like. She and her boys came over to give the girls these early Easter presents, and we were all tickled pink!
April 16, 2011, at 12:37 am | One of the girls’ favorite activities is to look at photo albums. This morning I found them captivated by their own baby pictures.
Maybe they’re trying to figure out who their baby brother is going to look like!

April 13, 2011, at 10:56 pm | I’m not sure if this was a welcome-home hug, a double tackle, a dogpile, a Becky sandwich, or a lets-break-daddy’s-back…but whatever it was, it was fun!
April 12, 2011, at 10:30 pm | Jim took this picture of Susie copying my pose a few days ago. I guess I’m kind of predictable!

This spring weather has us all flying high!
April 10, 2011, at 11:53 pm | After watching their dad play an intense game of ping pong against our friend Uriah, the girls spontaneously decided to show the big boys how it’s done.
I think Susie (on right) is going to have a wicked serve one day, don’t you?
Both girls used their paddles more as decorative props than as ball-hitters, but they looked good trying.
Although we haven’t yet taught them the importance of sportsmanlike conduct, the girls seem to intuitively understand that the fun of a ball game isn’t about winning or losing…
…it’s about enjoying time with friends!
(Or at least, that’s what I’ll teach them to say when they lose!)
April 8, 2011, at 11:24 pm | This may look like a football to the trained eye…
…but to my girls’ blissfully untrained eyes, there’s no reason it can’t function as a softball for playing catch…
…or a basketball for shooting hoops…
…or a soccer ball for kicking around. And as this video shows, Susie’s not afraid to incorporate a soccer “header” or two into her basketball shots:
I guess we have some sports training to do!

ABOUT US I'm blessed to be saved by the grace of God, loved by my wonderful husband Jim, and embraced by my twin girls, Rebecca Faith and Susanna Joy and my sons Jimmy and Danny. I started this blog in May 2008 when I was hospitalized for pre-term labor at 24 weeks gestation. The Lord allowed me to keep the girls inside until they were 34 weeks along, and on July 27th, Rebecca made her debut, followed by Susanna, five minutes later, on July 28th. We ecstatically welcomed Jimmy into our lives on April 25th, 2011, and Danny on August 31, 2012. This blog has been a personal journal of faith and motherhood and the only way I can remember which child did what and when. Thanks for stopping by to share in my Faith and Joy! Feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected].
