We’re loving having my California family here this week! Our early Christmas was a huge hit with the kids. Here are the highlights! The beginning: The middle:
The end: We had an early Christmas with my family! More pictures to come! We’re keeping the grandparents and Aunt Angie very busy!
Think Susie is using her dough disguise to pretend to be Santa or Grandpa?! Guess who’s coming tonight, bearing gifts? No, Santa’s not coming early! It’s even better – Grammie and Grandpa and Aunt Angie are arriving! We have some very excited little kiddos here (and one excited Mom)!
Danny, walking outside in the backyard, “I smell donuts.” ***** Jimmy: “Why is our meeting [our church building] so old?” Susie, in an exasperated know-it-all voice, “We’ve been using it since you were born!” ***** Jimmy: “What does full speed ahead mean?” Me: “It means going as fast as you can.” Jimmy: “I can go faster.” ***** Me to Susie, “If this is the way you’re going to act, it’s going to be a long day.” Becky happily declared, “I LOVE long days!” ***** Jimmy: “Fries is a fruit.” ***** Jimmy exclaimed when I first came in his room in the morning, “I know how to spell ATV!!! First “A”, then “T”, then “V”!!” ***** Jimmy: “Rattle snakes are the dangerous, dangerous snakes in the whole wide world. If I ever see a rattlesnake, I’m going to run inside and get my camouflage suit on. Probably snakes are afraid of army men.” Wacky Hair Day at school – the only day of the year where my hair-do ineptness is a bonus!
Sometimes he looks so grown-up…and sometimes he looks like a baby. I love those baby cheeks!
I don’t think we’re raising any budding comedians around here…although these kids do crack me up! |
