Why does watering the plants always involve a change of clothing!?
It’s always so wonderful to catch up with old friends and feel like no time has passed! We were blessed to spend time last weekend with visiting friends, who joined us for turtle spotting, baby cradling, boat adventuring, and pool splashing. It was perfect! Here I asked the boys to put their arms around each other, and this is what they did!
We finally got there:
The girls’ three dolls had just as much fun as they did!
We’ve never seen a single turtle on our property before, but we found two that day!
I’m not sure what Danny was doing here, but his expressions cracked us up!
The boys rounding off a day of fun by relaxing in the pool!
Jimmy just finished his first session of preschool at the local high school child education lab. He was quite tickled that he was now “big” enough to go to school, and even though he occasionally had cold feet about actually going in the classroom, he always did really well. The teachers described him as “shy,” which was news to me! He loved the gym time, and playing with the rice table. He can’t wait to go back next year – with Danny next time!
We celebrated the end of his program with a class trip to the bouncy house! Today I got to go to Susie’s end-of-the-year class party. It was such a treat! Here’s Susie posing with a ukulele she learned to play in music class: And here she is with her sweet teacher. They were a perfect match together this year! (Because of scheduling conflicts, unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend Becky’s party, but she was blessed with an equally fantastic teacher. We’re going to miss them both!) You know your house is getting boring when the kids think it’s a grand rainy-day activity to go searching for lost toys behind their dressers!
Can you make out Becky perched on our backyard swing, quietly reading a book to herself? Maybe I should try that spot sometime!
Anytime is the right time for hot cocoa at our house! |
