Jimmy is Seven

(This post is a month late.  Oops!)

Jimmy is SEVEN YEARS OLD.  My little man, who seemed to entirely skip his baby years, is now so, so big.  He’s tall and strong and coordinated (and as he always tells everyone, he’s “most balanced one in the family”!).  He has a whip-smart mind and loves to point out the holes in other people’s arguments.  He is excelling in first grade, reading at almost a third-grade level, is whizzing through math and really just loves school.  He is still as enthusiastic as ever about nonfiction books and military history.  Right now, he’s most focused on the American Revolution and Civil Wars.  He really seems to grasp complicated alliances and battles, far more than I do now!  He still loves to ride his bicycle, his dirtbike, and now his mini-Segway.  His favorite foods are bacon, meatballs, pizza, basically anything salty and meat-y.  And as much as he didn’t cuddle as an infant, he has been known to cuddle up on his dad’s or my lap for a few minutes to re-charge before zooming off onto another project.  If I had to project what career he would be most suited for in the future, it would be a motorcycle-driving prosecutor with a side business as an excavator operator. 😉 .

Jimmy (or Jim, as you’re known at school), you amaze and delight us daily!

(Here he is posing on his Segway with his Cinco de Mayo gear!)
