The girls have their second cold in a month, and our house was feeling a bit germy, so I loaded them in the car and headed out for lunch. We tried out a new deli near our house, but it didn’t have seating for us, so we set off in search of a park where we could eat our sandwiches. I programmed my GPS to find local parks and gardens, but the first place it directed us to was a golf course, so much to the dismay of the girls and my growling tummy, we backed out of the parking lot and kept driving. The second place the GPS took us was a state park that consisted of a hiking trail located at the end of a narrow road with no outlet. It didn’t look very picnic-ready, but given that the girls were mutinying in the backseat, I decided to park next to a nearby grassy area. I wasn’t entirely sure that it was part of the state park and not someone’s front yard (and given the stares from a neighbor who drove by, I’m thinking that it may have been the latter), but I was desperate and hungry enough that I didn’t care. We spread out my coat for an impromptu picnic blanket, and dug in. Our lunch may have been a bit delayed, but it was still yummy!
Great pictures! I love the fall colors!!
What I wouldn’t give to have been able to curl up next to my nieces on your coat and partake in the picnic adventures you three have 🙂
