February 16, 2012, at 9:44 pm | Jimmy may be underneath a glass table top, but it doesn’t keep him from his Grammie!
February 15, 2012, at 10:40 pm | Several of you noticed pigtails in Becky’s hair in some recent pictures. Good eyes! We’re experimenting with the placement of the hair bands, but she’s definitely “sprouting” some longer locks these days!
February 14, 2012, at 10:27 pm | I hope your Valentine’s Day was filled with sweet treats, good books, and wonderful loved ones (oh, and pink unicorn purses if that’s your thing)!
February 13, 2012, at 9:29 pm | We had the great privilege of meeting up today with my aunt Maureen, my cousin Sarah and her two-year-old son for a fun-filled afternoon at an children’s museum. This place was amazing, and it was such a joy to watch all the kids interacting with the exhibits. I didn’t get to chat with my aunt and cousin as much as I would have liked (because we were all chasing after different kids), but that’s the phase of life we’re in now. Run first, talk later! It was a blessing to be with them nonetheless, and I hope it won’t be too long before we can see them all again!
February 12, 2012, at 9:23 pm | For many reasons (including my girls’ love of unlimited dinner rolls, my boys’ love of all fried food, and my love of anyone else’s cooking), my family loves to eat out. Tonight, we had an extra special reason to celebrate at a restaurant. Grammie’s here!
February 10, 2012, at 10:13 pm | Recently, I had to wake Becky up in the middle of the night to change her diaper. She was still half-asleep as I gently placed her on the changing table. With her eyes closed, she softly murmured:
“Mama, I think I’m learnin’ to get big.”
Although she’s still so young in so many ways (like needing midnight diaper changes!), I have to agree with her. She is truly growing up, and I’m noticing it in the small ways throughout the day that she’s becoming more independent: getting her own water from the sink, finding her crayons in the drawer, putting on her own pants and socks, starting to tear off pieces of Scotch tape by herself, opening up her own banana…all things I don’t have to do for her anymore. Indeed, as she so eloquently puts it, she’s learning to get big. And neither she, nor I, would have it any other way.
February 9, 2012, at 9:51 pm | Even though it was chilly out today, I was getting restless, so I booted everyone outside for a bit of fresh air. We took a walk down to the mailbox, and the girls stopped several times and requested that I take their picture. I don’t know whether they were being lazy or photogenic, but I decided to humor them!
After we got the mail, the girls wanted to play on the swing set, so I decided to let Jimmy crawl around on the grass nearby. He was in little-boy heaven – happily covered in pebbles, sticks and dirt.
The girls sought shelter from the grime in their play house. Jimmy was content to stay outside and eat bark.
It probably won’t be long before the girls hang up a “No Boys Allowed” sign. I don’t think Jimmy will mind!
February 8, 2012, at 10:04 pm | My girls may have lost this round (even with blocking the goal with their bare hands), but practice makes perfect!

February 6, 2012, at 9:49 pm | I took these videos a week or so ago when it was really warm outside. I couldn’t decide which one was cuter, so I’ll leave you with both!

ABOUT US I'm blessed to be saved by the grace of God, loved by my wonderful husband Jim, and embraced by my twin girls, Rebecca Faith and Susanna Joy and my sons Jimmy and Danny. I started this blog in May 2008 when I was hospitalized for pre-term labor at 24 weeks gestation. The Lord allowed me to keep the girls inside until they were 34 weeks along, and on July 27th, Rebecca made her debut, followed by Susanna, five minutes later, on July 28th. We ecstatically welcomed Jimmy into our lives on April 25th, 2011, and Danny on August 31, 2012. This blog has been a personal journal of faith and motherhood and the only way I can remember which child did what and when. Thanks for stopping by to share in my Faith and Joy! Feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected].
