Conference Kids April 30, 2012, at 10:30 pm | We spent a wonderful weekend visiting friends and family in Pennsylvania for a church conference. The girls especially loved the trip, as they got to spend nearly every waking minute surrounded by a gaggle of “big kids.” Everywhere the girls turned, there was someone new to play with, to walk with, to chase, or to hug (including their cousin Alli, who flew out especially for the conference – we’re so glad you came, Alli!)
Jimmy loved all the attention too, and he got plenty of it thanks to a dapper three-piece suit and tie from my in-laws. I didn’t get a great picture of it, but you can kind of see it below as he was trying to escape from a photo shoot:
Looking good is very exhausting for my little man (but it just comes naturally to his grandpa)!

ABOUT US I'm blessed to be saved by the grace of God, loved by my wonderful husband Jim, and embraced by my twin girls, Rebecca Faith and Susanna Joy and my sons Jimmy and Danny. I started this blog in May 2008 when I was hospitalized for pre-term labor at 24 weeks gestation. The Lord allowed me to keep the girls inside until they were 34 weeks along, and on July 27th, Rebecca made her debut, followed by Susanna, five minutes later, on July 28th. We ecstatically welcomed Jimmy into our lives on April 25th, 2011, and Danny on August 31, 2012. This blog has been a personal journal of faith and motherhood and the only way I can remember which child did what and when. Thanks for stopping by to share in my Faith and Joy! Feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected].

Love the picture of jimmy and his handsome Pap…..darling photos
Me TOO! 🙂
Adam has the same suit…he wore it for Christmas Eve!! WAY too cute!!
I am so impressed with the traveling you do with the three kiddos! I haven’t attempted to travel yet but we are planning a trip to northern california this summer and I already have anxiety about it. Any tips you have (especially tips that involve everyone getting sleep) would be greatly appreciated!
Catherine, I know travel can be really nerve-wracking! Especially with so many kiddos to wrangle, it feels overwhelming just packing for the trip. My not-so-secret weapon is DVDs for the girls during the car trip (they’re fortunately mesmerized by just about anything), and varied snacks for Jimmy. As for sleeping, I try to keep them as much as possible to their normal routines. Sometimes it works to travel at night so the kids can sleep, but you need to make sure you have reinforcements during the next day while you’re tired! And I guess that’s what it comes down to…having help at your destination, or at least not planning to do much the first day of your trip, so you can recover from the travel! I hope you have a wonderful time up North. I wish I could be there to see you all!
