Night Owls August 19, 2008, at 7:07 pm |
Maybe I should have held off writing such an optimistic post yesterday until after I had endured my first grandmotherless night. I think my children have morphed into vampires when I wasn’t looking! These kiddos sleep beautifully all day long, and must reach their necessary sleep quota sometime around 10pm, because after that, they would much rather be social than sleep. Socializing would be fine with me if it could be done in coos and sighs and other peaceful noises; however, the girls have apparently deemed me hard-of-hearing, because they would much rather squeal at the top of their evidently well-developed lungs. I’m looking forward to the days when their nighttime activities can be directed at entertaining each other, rather than deciding they need to involve a third party!

ABOUT US I'm blessed to be saved by the grace of God, loved by my wonderful husband Jim, and embraced by my twin girls, Rebecca Faith and Susanna Joy and my sons Jimmy and Danny. I started this blog in May 2008 when I was hospitalized for pre-term labor at 24 weeks gestation. The Lord allowed me to keep the girls inside until they were 34 weeks along, and on July 27th, Rebecca made her debut, followed by Susanna, five minutes later, on July 28th. We ecstatically welcomed Jimmy into our lives on April 25th, 2011, and Danny on August 31, 2012. This blog has been a personal journal of faith and motherhood and the only way I can remember which child did what and when. Thanks for stopping by to share in my Faith and Joy! Feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected].

Em, I love reading your posts. They’re all great.
I have NO experience in parenting, but it took our puppy about 4 nights before she would sleep through the night. Kids are smarter than puppies, so I’d give it to the third night without Grandma to get a full nights’ sleep.
WELCOME TO MOTHERHOOD…..THEIR PICTURES ARE BEAUTIFUL. I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THEM IN THEIR HIGH HEELS….YOU ARE ALL IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GIVE THE GIRLS A KISS AND A HUG TO YOUR HUSBAND FROM THEIR AUNT BECK
Hi Emily,
The joy of the Lord is your strenth. Just sleep as much as possible when they are sleeping. Eveything else will keep.
I loved the pictures on your website.

As Brent and I begin the “trying” process of getting pregnant, I was leaning on your happy-go-lucky posts as inspiration, however now a dose of reality is hitting….maybe we should hold off for awhile until they figure out a way to make those oh so famous “sleepless nights” disapear!! š
You all remain in our prayers. What a true miracle it is for you to be home with your family as a family!!! ENJOY! I hear this time flys by!
God Bless-Brittny
