Jimmy loves nothing better than using sharp tools, so what better hobby for him than whittling? Here’s the bear that he and his grandpa made together. They even finished it off with wood burning tools. We were all so impressed! Can you spot the Tazie buried beneath her stuffed animal friends? The kids wanted to see if they could make a human pyramid. Not bad, in my book! On the days the kids are too wiggly to capture on film, now I can turn to the dog for a close-up! Snow days mean fort building! Becky, always the decorator, included string lights: Tazie putting finishing touches on Susie’s fort: Peekabo! We had an early dismissal today because of a heavy wet snowfall this afternoon. It was brief, but beautiful! We took the dog for a hike in the woods:
Jimmy brought his axe to try to construct a lean-to fort against a fallen tree. It ended up being a bit more difficult than he was expecting, but he gave it his best try!
The walk back uphill wore everyone out. Here they are taking a break mid-way. Only Summer was able to climb back up at top speed!
We were so excited this weekend when we got a visit from our niece Alli and her husband Erik, along with our dear friends David and Colleen. It was a riot to see everyone out snowmobiling around the yard!
Even Alli got in on the snowmobile action, albeit only going a few miles per hour! We finished off our lovely day with lots of games. Here’s a game of group chess: And our new favorite game, Codenames! We’re so excited for Alli’s family to grow early this summer with the arrival of their daughter! She’s going to be the best mom!! Susie may be the kid who loves tea parties the most, but Becky is the best tea party table decorator! She surprised me by entertaining Tazie with her very own in-room tea party (complete with plants and a candle!):
This is often the time of year we travel to Florida, so we were all a little stir-crazy hanging out over this long weekend in the house instead of hanging out with cousins in the warm Florida sun. But we made the best of it and the kids had fun with more Lego challenges and card games! Here’s Becky’s latest creation – a Steelers football stadium! And here are the boys playing the card game version of “Deal or No Deal.” They love it!
